NEC - Manufacturing / ebiz

Improving profitability and operational efficiency was the prime mover in this e-business initiative.

Our customer, the leader in the Japanese PC sales market, wanted to leverage the power of the web to address the entire "customer-digital-life-cycle" and thereby, achieve its business objectives.

Using our expertise in providing e-business solutions, we created a series of successful applications that ranged from interactive knowledge sharing amongst employees to innovative services for the customer. These highly efficient web-based applications include:

  • Online malls, which connect shoppers and vendors online, apart from providing a shop / store administrator.
  • Customer points redemption system, which is used to attract buyers and induce them to make repetitive purchases, using interactive technologies that make it extremely quick and highly scalable.
  • Web-based knowledge portal, which can be accessed by employees across the customer's global offices and is especially useful for service staff to share their expertise amongst themselves.
  • CRM help desk, which provides customers with immediate solutions to their problems and instant gratification of their queries in a rich digital environment.

The customer continues to realize significant cost savings on account of these hugely successful enterprise applications built using BroadVision. Each of the solutions deployed by us was both robust and scalable, and at the same time, exceeded the stringent quality standards of our customer. The domain knowledge of our experts impressed the customer and the ability of our project teams to meet tough deadline won them accolades.

Quinnox's contribution to the customer's business objectives is reflected in the enduring business relationship with the customer, that continues even today.

Nissan - Manufacturing /SAP

Future growth was kept in mind while designing this solution for our customer. A special data-cleaning tool was also developed to ensure that error-free data was loaded into the R/3 system.

Our customer, a leading automobile manufacturer with global operations, was implementing a 'Revival Plan' to return to profitability. It included an IT initiative to streamline and optimize the company's Purchase and Procurement processes. Our expertise in SAP R/3 was called upon to drive this initiative. The task at hand was twofold:

  • To move the customer's purchasing processes from numerous disparate legacy systems to SAP R/3, and
  • To develop interfaces with the legacy systems for other business processes like Inventory Management, Finance, etc.

The solution developed by our team consisted of SAP R/3 version 4.0B Materials Management Module and included specific methodologies for handling the legacy data. Our solutions team was involved in the configuration of R/3, the design, development, testing and implementation of interfaces and the data conversion program.

The linguistic skills of our R/3 experts were also tested as they led a team of French and Japanese consultants and deployed the solution within schedule, driving the customer to profitability within the first year of implementation.

Streamlining and implementing the business processes driving our customer's advanced planning system was the objective of this project.

Our customer is the largest original equipment manufacturer (OEM) managing the supply chain of several large corporations in the high-tech electronics industry. With over 66 plants in the Americas, Europe and APAC, it was important for this US-based manufacturing behemoth to optimize the bucketed stocks for each of its customers - that is, to minimize delivery lead times while driving down its own inventories in a bearish market.

Our solution was a customized solution that translated the customer's entire planning process into a fully integrated and process-oriented system. The planning system was based on BaaN V ERP linked to the back-end inventory management system as well as pricing and costing information. Incorporating the advanced memory resident planning system from i2 Technologies further streamlined the customer's business processes.

The solution provides a "what if analysis" tool, which simulates various transactional and business scenarios; this allows each planner to take inputs from several buyers, who interact with their vendors and suppliers on a daily basis, and then streamline their plans. It, thus, helped metamorphose "a day in the life of a planner" from utter chaos to being able to accurately pinpoint glitches in the supply chain.

Planners can now easily spot anomalies in procurement plans and missed delivery dates, while buyers are better informed when interacting with vendors.

Quinnox's APS domain expertise was greatly appreciated, as it helped the customer to maintain its ranking in the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
